About three months ago, we received an inquiry from Davina Smolders, a psychologist specialising in work with vulnerable children.
Davina's Vision
Davina aimed to develop an application that would equip New Zealand children with safety knowledge for secure development. She prioritised simplicity and engagement for her young audience. Lacking technical expertise, she sought a comprehensive development partner for ideation, validation, user flow design, wireframing, roadmapping, agile development, and app store launch.
The Orchid team — Anna, Lauren, and Ben — collaborated extensively with Davina to refine her concept and enhance gamification elements to boost child engagement. They engaged an artist/animator to develop gaming components further.
The team achieved early August 2018 iPad launch, completing work ahead of schedule.
Results
Davina reported extremely positive initial feedback. Her satisfaction with Orchid's work in transforming her abstract concept into reality was evident when she sent us a cake to thank us!
While customer gratitude isn't expected, witnessing satisfied clients validates our efforts.
